20th Anniversary Awards Dinner

3rd December 2018

Our excellent teams once again convened at Hemel Hempstead’s Shendish Manor Hotel for our annual supplier fair and awards dinner, celebrating the best produce, innovative ideas and of course rewarding those who’ve gone the extra mile in 2018, our history-making 20th anniversary year in which we were named Contract Caterer of the Year.

Before the evening festivities, we were pleased to welcome a full room of suppliers to our supplier fair, from our more established partners such as Bidfood and e-foods with their eye-catching display of fresh produce, through to newer hand-picked artisan suppliers, such as Farrington Oils, the producer of the Mellow Yellow range of rapeseed oils that are being used as a healthier alternative to traditional cooking oils across Blue Apple. Joining us for the first time were our partner charity, The Brain Tumour Charity, who were on-site to publicise their work to the wider Blue Apple community. Steve Salazar, Corporate Partnership Officer reported having some interesting discussions with our staff about how they had been affected by brain tumours and we’re looking forward to assisting the charity even more in 2019 as we continue to raise awareness together.

It was then on to the evening, as Blue Apple teams from across the country changed into their most dapper clothing for our fantastic awards dinner and presentation, presented by CEO Brian Allanson and David Belsey (Development Chef) alongside Bidfood’s Paul Brown. The awards are an opportunity to recognise the dedication of the Blue Apple team as well as rewarding those who have demonstrated passion and innovation in their roles.

For the second year running, we were would like to thank Paul Brown and Bidfood for their sponsorship and presentation of our awards.
