Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the team at Blue Apple!
2018 has been a fantastic year for our business as we secured new contracts across the country and continued to impress at our existing sites, whilst our teams have continued to produce delicious and inventive food for our customers and always served with a smile. It’s also been a celebratory year as we marked the 20th anniversary of Brian and Ruston forming the business in Brian’s front room — we’ve come a long way since, with 2018 seeing us named Contract Caterer of the Year, one of the Top 30 Best Companies to work for in Hospitality and one of the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain by the London Stock Exchange Group. We were also pleased to be finalists at the Thames Valley Business Awards and to see the talented Felicia Amofah awarded the ‘Young Star of the Year’ at the ACE Ready Steady Cook! competition.
With thoughts now on the busy and exciting Christmas period across our units, all sites have been provided with the second edition of our ‘Fabulously Festive’ recipe book, packed with Christmassy recipes, ideas and inspiration for our teams to use. Highlights include our root vegetable wellington with a crunchy hazelnut topping — a delicious meat alternative for Christmas lunch, and a warming turkey bone broth — a tasty way to reduce festive food wastage which is one of our business priorities as we produced our first Sustainability and CSR Report this year. We are committed to operating sustainably and working with our communities, and still with Christmas in mind, our excellent Bristol team produced over 100 Christmas meals for the homeless community as of the #feedthehomelessBRISTOL campaign.
