At Blue Apple, we’ve always bean (see what we did there?!) passionate about a great cup of coffee.
Pip & Bean is the result of our coffee loving bunch working hard to create the perfect blend, while setting new standards in sustainable coffee production.
We’re proud to call Pip & Bean our own and are passionate that our beans are ethically sourced and Fairtrade, which means a guaranteed minimum price to the farmers for their coffee and a better life for them and their families, while improving quality and yield.
Oh, and did we mention… it also tastes great — pip, pip hooray!
Our beans are proudly sourced from COMISUYL, a cooperative of coffee farmers from the village of Subirana, Honduras who grow Fairtrade and organic coffee in the mountainous Pico Pijol region of this beautiful Central American nation.
8 hours away from the nearest coffee bean drying facility, the farmers at COMISUYL took out a £150k loan to open Central America’s first working dry mill and the world’s first off grid, 100% renewable energy coffee processing centre.
Shipped to the UK, the beans are expertly roasted by our coffee partners, to a medium profile, developing a complex flavour with notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar and white grapes, perfectly balancing acidity and sweetness.
Creating a fantastic coffee that tied in with our company values, as well as being sustainable was important to Blue Apple and also inspired the name, with Pip & Bean reflecting our core PIPS ― Passion, Integrity, Pride and Sustainability making the bean! We have created a unique coffee to call our own that embodies our core values and has a story that we are truly passionate about.
But don’t take our word for it, give it a try yourself! To talk to us over a tasty cuppa about your catering, contact us here.
